The Oldham Spindles Project
The redevelopment of the Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre is a landmark project aimed at revitalizing Oldham’s town centre, turning it into a vibrant civic and cultural hub. Commissioned by Oldham Council, this ambitious transformation seeks to repurpose the existing retail space into a dynamic environment that includes a modern market, co-working spaces, community event areas, and an arts and heritage archive.
Jenkinsons played a crucial role in bringing this vision to life. Partnering with Space Invader Design—the interior design specialists responsible for conceptualizing the space—we provided and installed high-quality furniture solutions that seamlessly complement the overall design aesthetic.
By collaborating closely with Oldham Council and Space Invader Design, we helped create a cohesive and inspiring environment that reflects the heritage and future aspirations of Oldham. The Spindles redevelopment is a testament to the power of strategic partnerships in delivering spaces that serve both practical and cultural purposes.

“We put our residents at the heart of everything we do and we’re proud to be putting investment into our customer support services so that our residents can get the support they need, face to face, in convenient locations across our borough. This project has formed part of a unique opportunity for us to develop a new space that supports the current and future needs of our residents and businesses here at the Spindles.”
